Full Job Description

We are looking for an Account Manager to join our Customer Connections Team based in Warwick. This is a hybrid role which includes a mixture of working from home, site and office as and when required.

The Customer Account Manager role exists to develop and manage a portfolio of customer contracts for our Engineering and Consultancy Service (ECS) business.

The purpose of this role is to prepare bids or proposals and to manage customer contracts to ensure they meet the customer's requirement, achieving a good financial outcome in accordance with our plans.

What you'll do

  • Lead the development of robust bids/proposals for unlicensed customer works. Through effective stakeholder engagement you will develop the commercial strategy for the bid/proposal and ensure that the scope of the works is properly understood and priced.

  • Responsible for developing and negotiating contractual terms and conditions that are acceptable to both parties and by utilising your commercial acumen and influencing skills ensure that all commercial risk is identified and managed

  • Proactively manage portfolio of contracts to ensure National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET) meets its contractual obligations, delivers the contracts profitability and maintains cashflow by preparing and submitting (where applicable) timely contract notifications, programmes, progress reports, claims, variations, payment applications and where necessary to escalate performance or contractual issues in a timely manner to ensure swift resolution

  • Lead the preparation and agreement of contract extensions

  • Drive good project outcomes and customer satisfaction by actively contributing to project execution, acting as the voice of the customer. Attending key meetings and raise awareness of the commercial consequences of decisions made prior to and during the contract

  • Share knowledge, provide support to and coach other members of the team to enhance the team's capabilities to enable ECS to delivers it objectives

  • Actively contribute to achieving a good outcome for the customer and a good customer satisfaction score by leading the customer experience. To be the key point of contact for the customer, dealing with issues and concerns in a timely manner and managing the customer relationship by organising and attending key strategic meetings

  • Identify and refer new business opportunities to Business Development Manager

  • Support the promotion of ECS at industry events to help achieve the ECS growth ambition.

    Proven track record of leading the development of bids/proposals, negotiating contractual terms and managing complex contacts

  • Strong Negotiations Skills

  • Strong experience of managing multiple stakeholders/projects

  • Demonstrable contract management experience managing complex service offering or construction works.

  • Regulatory & Energy Industry Understanding

  • Full UK driving license is essential
