Full Job Description

We are looking for an Assistant HR Business Partner to join the team on a part time basis, being the first point of contact for managers within the Health in Justice division.
This is a fantastic role where you will be working primarily from home (with ad hoc travel as required) alongside HR Business Partners, Senior HRBPs, and line managers across the South and East Midlands.
Hours:
This is a part time role, working 20 hours per week. Ideally, we are looking for someone to work Monday to Friday, 10:00 - 14:00. We are happy to consider slightly different shifts and working pattern (such as 4 days or a variation of the hours) although hours must be worked between 09:00 - 17:00., As our new Assistant HR Business Partner, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

  • Work closely with line managers and HR Business Partners within prisons and immigration removal centres across your specific region

  • Act as the first point of contact through the HR helpline (mailbox)

  • Manage a variety of HR cases, including employee relations, sickness, grievance etc

  • Ensure that HR advice provided is clearly documented and followed up, and that this is legally compliant Provide coaching to managers both virtually and in person (when necessary)



  • Be CIPD Level 5 qualified

  • Have significant experience of working within a HR function

  • Have excellent relationship building skills - although you are manging an inbox as a first point of contact, you must be happy to pick up the phone and attend meetings over Teams

  • Have knowledge of employment law
