An exciting opportunity has arisen for an organised and efficient Assistant Manager to join our inclusive team in Reading. This Assistant Manager hybrid role comes with a generous salary, many excellent benefits and the chance to progress your career at a thriving company.

The Assistant Manager will provide oversight, review and support to the accountants in the team and work closely supporting and learning from managers.

In your first few weeks in this Assistant Manager role, you can expect to:

  • Be responsible for a portfolio of clients, taking ownership of deliverables including the completion of monthly client management accounts.

  • Supervise junior staff (local and in GSC locations) in respect of all accounting deliverables.

  • Provide technical accounting guidance and ad hoc project support where required.

  • Oversee/assist in the preparation of relevant tax filings such as VAT returns, corporation tax returns, P11ds and PSA.

    A high level of technical knowledge and the ability to apply it in practical situations.

  • Self-motivation, able to work as a team member, using your initiative and referring issues when necessary.

  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to identify and suggest procedural improvements.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively (written and oral) at all levels, internally and externally.
