Blue Light Project Assertive Outreach Worker

Cranstoun Sandwell provides a range of services for those affected by drugs and alcohol. The preventative and self-help approach of the service compliments the established treatment and recovery interventions delivered across the Borough ensuring the service caters for all levels of need.

The Blue Light project was set up to target and support those people in Sandwell who's alcohol and drug impact mean they call and/or use emergency services frequently for a variety of reasons. By working with the wider community and agencies, the project successfully supports individuals to improve their health and wellbeing, provide practical support to meet their needs and reduces impact to other agencies specifically emergency services which may be frequently called by this group.

The Blue Light Assertive Outreach Worker will act as a care coordinator for all high impact drinkers and drug users. You will collaboratively work with third partner agencies such as the health teams, fire, police and social services to enhance their wellbeing. You will be required to support and accompany them with their appointments and address ongoing needs to improve their lifestyle. A core skill will be your organised, methodical and efficient approach in managing the work of the Blue Light Project. You must possess excellent communication skills, empathy as well as attention to detail.
