Full Job Description

The Consumer Customer Facing Unit (CFU) delivers over £10bn of revenue and £2.4bn of EBITDA for BT Group. The CFU has three consumer brands; EE, BT and Plusnet - and numerous product lines including Landline, Broadband, Mobile, TV and Sport. Consumer finance plays a key role in driving top and bottom line growth. The function provides insightful reporting, analysis and business partnering that is integral to optimising decision making and delivering value for shareholders.

This is part of a commercially focussed, busy team, with good exposure to director/MD level across the business. This offers strong development and progression opportunities for the right candidate

Key support for the Head of Trading

  • Business partnering support for the Consumer Trading & PAYM P&L teams

  • Lead the planning, reporting and analysis of Mobile volume (5m+ pa) and value (£1bn+ pa)

  • Support business case, pricing & PIRs for upgrade & retentions area


  • What you'll be doing

  • Lead the Mobile budgeting and rolling forecast process, ensuring clarity of understanding and alignment of assumptions with key stakeholders

  • Develop robust and challenging budgets and forecasts for upgrades, MRC and value creation. Interlocked across sales channels, central trading and marketing

  • Drive the business in understanding upgrades & retentions performance and support P&L delivery through insight, governance, interlock and influencing key stakeholders

  • Lead the process for weekly upgrade trading volume forecast in order to drive focus and ultimately deliver the landing of the quarterly P&L. Articulation of revenue trends and performance which underpin BT Group position.

  • Support delivery of weekly reporting and analysis of upgrade value and enrichment, identifying key trends, risks and opportunities

  • Lead the Retentions pricing weekly review, responsible for making pricing decisions, reacting to competitor moves in the market whilst ensuring optimum value and delivering churn KPIs

  • Business case and PIR support for trading and marketing initiatives, ensuring robust assumptions and appropriate insight to drive price changes and trading value.

  • Deep dive review of long term trading trends, using analysis to influence decision making and drive change. Presenting outputs to senior stakeholders.

    Qualified Accountant

  • Planning & forecasting experience

  • Excellent Analytical Skills

  • Commercially astute

  • Strong Communication and influencing skills.

  • Previous experience of a consumer mobile business desirable

  • Commercial knowledge. Broad company and market knowledge to enable joined up approach across Trading team and optimal decision making. Role will influence change to the commercial trading and marketing communities

  • The role requires strong influence and persuasion skills. The role-holder will need to evaluate and understand trading performance and pricing requests

  • The role requires coordination and engagement skills as they will be required to align the plans and objectives of the finance, trading, marketing and devices teams

  • Working in a challenging, complex, fast moving environment

  • Ability to simplify large amounts of complex data from different sources and simplify into an actionable plan
