Excellent opportunity to join a leading national landscaping specialist. If you have experience in supervising materials and staff on landscaping projects and want to manage multiple projects in different sectors and locations in the UK, this is the role for you.

Talbot Landscapes supplies a full range of landscaping and related services to the construction, public realm, sports terrain and other markets.

Based near Derby in the heart of the English midlands we advise, construct and maintain sustainable landscaping services in many different areas throughout the UK such as construction sites, council amenities, city parks and recreational areas, large country estates, premier sporting surfaces, the playing fields of our best schools, many realm locations and numerous housing developments.

We are reliable partners supplying turf to elite performance surfaces including the Olympic Stadium, Championship golf courses and local golf clubs, the top performing football clubs including Premiership pitches and training grounds and our best rugby football and league clubs.

You will report to the senior contracts manager and receive the full support of the managing director and senior management team including estimator, QS and operations support.

The Contracts Manager role oversees landscaping teams on location ensuring the delivery of landscaping schemes to a quality standard.

You will have full field staff and materials responsibility to manage programme delivery in a variety of projects .

You will be cost, time and quality focused, bringing your landscaping and horticulture experience to each project, transforming the client's landscapes and delivering our contractual responsibilities.

Development

In addition to your immediate support, we will put a development plan in place to ensure you get all relevant training and exposure to a variety of projects and sectors to develop your skills.

Responsibilities and Duties

Management role feeding into tender preparations, pricing work and winning of contract awards.

Leading of landscape supervisors and operatives teams, direct line management.

Daily supervising of work programmes and project delivery with site visits, review of our work at each stage of completion and reviews as necessary with the client including handover.

Building and maintaining professional working relationships at all levels.

Minimum of 5 years experience in landscaping or horticulture environment

Ability to work on own initiative and be self-motivated to arrange daily diary and work as part of a team without constant supervision.

The ability to work calmly under pressure - ability to manage multiple projects

Good planning and organisational skills.

Demonstratable leadership and enthusiasm.

Experience with quality standards, such as ISO, procedures for handling exceptions and escalation of, close out of non-conformances.

Reporting to senior management on projects, informally (verbal) and formally (project reports)
