Full Job Description

We are seeking to appoint a fulltime Counsellor with immediate effect on a permanent basis. The post offers an excellent opportunity to work in a strong SEND department in our highly successful academy which holds a good Ofsted status.

The core purpose of the role is to hold sessions with students in a safe and confidential environment.To encourage students to look at their choices and find their own way to make a positive change within their life., Responsibilities of the post holder will be in accordance with the Counsellor job description.

Remuneration and Working Time
The hours of work required for the role are 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 8.00am to 4:00pm, and Friday 8am - 3.30pm term time only plus Inset days.

Annual salary for this role will be in accordance with the Academy's Support Staff Pay Scale, which for appointment for a full-time post currently involves a salary of up to £28,649 salary (Band 4 Point 26-30), however, actual salary offered will be £24,561 per annum, pro rata equivalent of point 26 including an allowance for holiday pay., Our people share a determination to push boundaries, think differently and achieve more. Plume had a successful Ofsted inspection in November 2023 and was judged a 'good' Academy. Ofsted acknowledged the high quality of teaching and excellent relationships in the Academy.

    The successful applicant should be educated to Level 3 standard of education with BACP qualification or equivalent, with excellent communication skills both written and verbal with pastoral experience of managing staff and students to resolve conflicts.
