Full Job Description

We're seeking a Part-Time Deli Counter Assistant to bolster our Food and Beverage team at Holmes Mill. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for a customer-focused individual to become an integral part of our core team, including weekends. As a Deli Counter Assistant, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our deli counter. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with food preparation and maintaining the presentation of counters, ensuring they're fully stocked and attractive.

  • Upholding cleanliness and tidiness standards in the kitchen and service areas, in accordance with regulations.

  • Operating tills securely, monitoring temperatures, recording waste, and maintaining equipment.

  • Participating in training sessions and meetings as required by your line manager.

  • Handling ordering, purchasing, and stocking of deli products.

  • Supervising the deli counter to ensure prompt and courteous service to customers.

  • Providing support to staff in preparing, packaging, and presenting deli products.

  • Managing high volumes of customers with courtesy and efficiency.

  • Responding promptly and accurately to customer queries.

  • Performing slicing, cutting, weighing, and pricing of products.

  • Removing outdated or damaged products from shelves and storage areas.

  • Managing weekly specials and introducing new items to attract customers.

  • Welcoming customers with friendliness and courtesy.

  • Maintaining product quality and stock rotation to prevent spoilage or damage.

    Exceptional customer service and communication skills.

  • A strong ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

  • Previous experience in a similar environment.

  • A basic Food Hygiene and Basic Health and Safety Certificate (preferred).
