Full Job Description

We are a bread distribution company and are looking for a customer service focused delivery driver with experience of 3.5t vehicles, Working days are Monday to Saturday (5 Days standard working week rolling weekly day off overtime as and when required )

The driver is required to load the vehicle, pick customers' orders and deliver in a timely and professional manner. The daily start time is 3am - early morning starts., 1. The role requires you to be compliant with all aspects of H&S in the workplace and whilst out in the vehicle to agreed site standards or relevant national law requirements. Play a pivotal role in ensuring that Health & Safety is adhered to onsite, through adherence to policy and raising concerns.

2. Drivers are responsible for their vehicles, ensuring that it is roadworthy prior to every outing and to ensure faults that occur are reported daily to ensure the fleet is legal. Vehicles should be fueled appropriately to instruction from management and imperative that oil, AdBlue and coolant levels are checked every day to rules as advised.

3. Drivers are responsible for checking their load (packet qty) prior to leaving the depot to ensure they have everything on their vehicle to ensure in full deliveries to customers can be made. Any shortages to be taken up with the night management to find possible corrective action or amendment. 3pl deliveries are to be checked on to vehicles "by basket" total as the measure.

4. Drivers are responsible for accurate picking, making deliveries to the schedule of the route as advised by management of the business and to the agreed delivery method agreed with the customer. Where amendments are required, both sets of paperwork should be amended.

5. Deliveries to be made in delivery equipment owned by the bakers or external providers to the bakers. Rules surrounding their use must be adhered to. ALL DELIVERY EQUIPMENT MUST BE COLLECTED ON THE FOLLOWING DELIVERY DAY. No availability of delivery equipment by delivery point should be reported to your line manager.

6. To close the day, drivers are required to return their vehicle to depot, offload delivery equipment in the correct areas and to the correct schedule of each basket / wheel type. An end of day review should be completed with the line manager or deputy and cash/payment collections recorded.

7. Support the team to ensure customers service and public perception is paramount to operations. Including such this as vehicle & personal appearance, customer engagement, depot appearance and run-outs to support overloads to ensure OTIF for customers - where possible through standard working hours.

8. Support the business in any reasonable respect of any tasks that your manager feels appropriate for you to complete from time to time.
