Full Job Description

As the Deputy Home Manager you will be responsible for the day to day management of the Care home along with the Home Manager, ensuring the highest level of care is given to all residents. You will ensure the running of the home is in line with all regulatory requirements and company policy offering guidance and support to the staff teams, therefore must be flexible in their working hours.,

  • Overall responsibility for the management of the Home along with the home Manager in an efficient and effective manner within available resources.

  • To lead, direct, supervise and support staff working within the Home in providing a network of services, which can respond flexibly to the needs of the residents as individuals.

  • Help in maintaining high occupancy levels in the Home, through effective marketing and relationship building.

  • Help in recruitment of all staff levels below that of Manager.

  • Help with supervisions to staff as appropriate, ensuring they are conversant with their duties, rights and responsibilities.

  • Create, implement and evaluate person centred individualised care plans for each of our residents

  • Planning, assessing, delivering and evaluating individual care

  • Leading, motivating and mentoring the care team to ensure effective deployment and smooth and efficient running of the care home

  • Undertake Senior tasks including administration of medication, running a shift independently.

  • Liaise with health and social care professionals involved in the well-being of individual residents to maintain a holistic approach to their care

  • Promoting our residents' independence, choice, dignity and respect by delivering the very best standards of care

  • Helping to maintain accurate records, undertaking ongoing training and getting involved in welcoming and training new staff, you will be an integral part of our team and the home.

    This role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced carers seeking a new challenge and a chance to put their own stamp on this service or has NVQ Level 3 or above and preferably level 4 or working towards it. The successful candidate is required to have previous team leading and management or related experience with exposure to managing staff teams. Awareness of CQC regulations, budgets and safeguarding's is an asset., The ideal candidate will have the following skills, knowledge & experience.

  • Experience as a deputy manager is desirable but not essential. People with right motivation and passion for the role and experience in the care will be considered.

  • Level 3 is mandatory. Having level 4 or above working towards it will be preferred.

  • Genuine passion for elderly care

  • Ability to prioritise workloads.

  • Experience of working with Dementia clients

  • Strong team management ability.

  • The ability to develop an environment which focuses on continuous improvements

  • An effective communicator, with a confident and influential leadership style.

  • Happy to assist on the floor

  • Obtains a Management qualification in the organisation if interested (NVQ Level 5 or equivalent preferred, will be fully supported by the organisation to achieve one)
