The Digital Sensitivity Review service we've developed enables the UK's Government departments to meet the requirements of Public Records legislation by selecting, reviewing and transferring records consistently and securely for permanent preservation at The National Archives. The growth in digital records means the team are embracing the use of AI and other advanced technologies to tackle the complex challenges we face. The work is vital and protects the UK's relations with other countries, as well as our defence interests, the intelligence services, and the personal data of individuals, all within a legal framework. Now we're looking for a team-focused digital records manager to join them.

Join the team that transfers records to the National Archives., In this role, you'll be a key member of a team that enables UK Government departments to select, review and transfer records consistently and securely for permanent preservation at the National Archives. Managing multiple work streams and a large review team, you'll work closely with our government customers and external IT partners as you process digital records in preparation for their transfer to the archive. Your colleagues will include policy officers with experience of historical world events, operations specialists responsible for preparing the information for review, and a technology team which develops and supports the cutting-edge software applications.

Collaborate with senior colleagues throughout Government

You'll have a range of additional responsibilities - these include engaging with government customers to manage the Digital Records process and ensuring that retention, referral and redaction policies are in place for all review services. You'll be expected to liaise with stakeholders in Government Departments and the National Archives, collaborate with senior colleagues throughout our organisation and engage with our technology collaboration partner to inform the development and design of our digital capabilities. We'll also expect you to attend cross-government forums and meetings with members of the information assurance community.

You're flexible and adaptable with a positive attitude and experience of managing records and information. You're ambitious and now you want to move on to a new challenge with an influential and important organisation. Here at FCDO Services we've got a unique opportunity for you, one that will see you using all your knowledge of the Public Record, Data Protection and Freedom of Information Acts in an important role with a growing team., With strong governance, resource, risk, records and line management skills, you'll be capable of analysing, interrogating and evaluating data, and have well developed experience of working in service delivery. A collaborative and motivating team manager with excellent customer, stakeholder and supplier service skills, you'll be capable of working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Word and Teams would be desirable, as would experience of using a bespoke document management system and dealing with subject access requests. In addition, Practitioner CSEG KIM Accreditations would be a bonus.,

  • Must hold or be eligible for DV security clearance

  • Knowledge of the Public Records Act, Data Protection Act/GDPR and the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act, probably gained through previous employment in this area of work

  • Records and Information Management qualification or experience

  • Experience in a service delivery area
