About the role: We are expanding our team in Tees Valley and are looking for a highly motivated and dedicated Early Years Trainer/Assessor. The ideal candidate will be passionate about empowering others and sharing their skills and knowledge. Applicants do not need to hold a currently teaching qualification providing they are willing to work towards this once in post.

You will be responsible for delivering a range of training and qualifications within the early years sector such as safeguarding in education and childcare, working in schools, caring for children/young people and equality and diversity. You will actively assist individuals to improve specific skills and move them closer to their personal goals, and/or closer to employment. Your role will involve delivering engaging training sessions, assessing learners' progress, and providing personalised guidance to help them achieve their learning goals. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, a passion for education, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of learners.

Required criteria:

· Previous experience in early years, childcare or education with an understanding of best practices in supporting young children's learning and development.

· Training qualification such as PTTLS, Education & Training or CAVA (or willingness to work towards one within the role.)

· Level 2 or equivalent Maths and English

· Certification in early childhood education (e.g. CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education.)

· Strong knowledge of early years frameworks and regulations

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to connect with learners from diverse backgrounds

· Strong literacy, numeracy and digital skills are essential. Personal skills include creativity, being inspirational/able to create a personal impact and being highly motivated.

· Patience, empathy, and the ability to motivate learners and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs.

· Comfortable using instructional technology tools and resources to enhance language instruction and engage learners in digital learning environments.

Desirable criteria:

  • Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field; Master's degree preferred

  • Familiarity with funding sources and regulations related to adult education, such as the Adult Skills Fund, is highly desirable.


  • · Experience creating engaging and interactive lesson plans that align with the learners' goals, incorporating a variety of teaching materials, resources, and activities.

    · Effectively manage varying sized groups of learners, being able to adapt to various learning styles.

    · Full responsibility of delivering innovative training solutions, based on local priorities and contractual requirements.

    · Feedback on training materials, identifying new and creative ways to engage learners

    · A keen eye for detail with excellent administrative skills and a continuous improvement mindset

    · Regular evaluation of your courses to ensure they are adding value to our learners and supporting them to move forwards their personal goals.

    Starting Salary: £25,500 (Dependant on experience), This job description is designed as guidance and there may be requirements to take on additional or alternative tasks to support the business as required. Your key tasks and responsibilities will be agreed with your line manager as part of the Triage performance management cycle.
