Undertaking microbiological testing of samples according to documented methodology that complies with ISO17025

Organising the day to day running of the food and environmental microbiology laboratories and provision of guidance and support to more junior members of staff.

Development of new methodology as required, in conjunction with the Technical Manager

Trouble shooting and participation in investigations of technical and quality related issues within the Microbiology laboratories.

Participation in laboratory external proficiency schemes and internal quality control schemes.

Ensuring the requirements of UKAS accreditation are met at all times.

Educated to degree level in Microbiology or a related discipline with a significant microbiological element, preferably with a knowledge of molecular techniques.

Experience of working within a food or environmental microbiology laboratory would be an advantage.

Flexibility to deliver under times of fluctuating workloads with a focus on customer service.

Good organisational skills., food or environmental microbiology laboratory: 1 year (preferred)

degree level in Microbiology or a related discipline (required)

Seven Resourcing are looking for a Food Microbiologist to work in Preston. This position is initially for a period of 6 months and is paying between £15.60 - £19.29 per hour. Working hours are Monday - Friday 37 hours per week., Job Types: Full-time, Temporary contract
