Full Job Description

The Global Assurance Business Development team provide specialist proposal support on the largest and most strategic audit clients across Europe, Asia and the Americas. The team ensure that experience, materials and best practices are shared across the global Assurance business development community through regular newsletters, network calls and annual meetings.

What you can expect from the role:

As a Global Assurance Business Development Director, you will make a considerable impact on the firm's most important audit pursuits. This role requires emotional intelligence, versatility, and excellent communication, coaching and influencing skills.

You will support senior partners, directors and business development teams across EMEA and the global network at all stages of the pursuit process to deliver winning proposals. From working with proposal teams to develop tailored pursuit strategies and value propositions, to delivering persuasive proposals, ensuring impactful client meetings and coaching winning presentations, this is a hands-on role. You will influence key stakeholders appropriately, share best practices and bring innovative ideas.

This role also requires you to use your experience to develop best practice materials and innovative proposal solutions that are shared with the broader EMEA and global Assurance business development community. You will be an important catalyst for innovation as you will also initiate, lead and advise on strategic initiatives that improve the firm's ability to win and retain audit clients., Specialist proposal support

Support proposal and business development teams on key audit pursuit activities and deliverables:

  • Share tactical advice and guidance to ensure that proposals benefit from tender best practices and recent learnings from client feedback.

  • Act as a strategic advisor and coach for senior partners and proposal teams on developing the proposal structure, development of win themes and value propositions, and to source and/or draft relevant proposal content.

  • Provide persuasive copywriting support throughout the tender process, working with external contractors as required.

  • Coach senior partners and proposal teams to prepare for, and deliver, impactful client meetings, workshops, technology demonstrations and presentations, including organising rehearsals and creating relevant supporting materials.

  • Provide strategic advice on the creative design aspects of a tender, identifying and leveraging relevant internal and external creative resources.


  • Thought leadership development

    Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of the Global Assurance business development community's pursuit capability:
  • Draft thought leadership materials such as guides to share best practices and innovative concepts.

  • Proactively bring fresh thought leadership ideas.

  • Leverage your internal and external network to continuously challenge the status quo.


  • Strategic initiative support

    Initiate, lead and advise on strategic initiatives that improve the firm's ability to win and retain audit clients.

  • Proposals and/or business development experience, preferably in audit/professional services, and an intimate understanding of bid process and strategy

  • Demonstrable coaching skills

  • Substantial influencing skills

  • Experience of working in a multinational, multicultural environment (long-term


  • international working experience and secondments are beneficial)
  • Demonstrable copywriting experience

  • Excellent presenting and public speaking skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and SharePoint

  • Extensive Salesforce experience

  • Broad commercial experience.

  • Ability to quickly develop relationships, including with senior stakeholders, across a complex global network

  • A proactive attitude, flexible and self-motivated with a desire for continuous learning

  • A curious and critical mindset with strong creative problem-solving skills and can "think on one's feet"
