Full Job Description

As the Head of HR for Dalkia Energy Services, you will be part of a team delivering an exceptional, distinctive and consistent people experience, which creates an environment where our people can thrive and do their best work. The Head of HR will report into the Managing Director and although not a member of the Board, will support the Energy Services Board on all people matters, helping it to continually improve our employee experience., We are looking for an experienced HR specialist to support our business in solving complex organisational challenges through people-based solutions and allow us to maintain our unique culture as we grow the business.

You will be an integral part of the team, so you'll need to understand every aspect of the business and act as a leader regarding People and Organisational topics.

You will lead a team of three reports and also partner with other cross-functional groups of subject-matter experts in recruitment, compensation, learning and development and HR operations to support and execute the people strategy.

Finally, you will be coaching leaders through an exciting time of growth for Dalkia Energy Services, hence your ability to establish your personal and functional credibility and to build strong working relationships acting as a trusted advisor will be key.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Support and manage all HR generalist activities across the HR function, ensuring performance delivery in line with SLAs and support the team through mentoring and coaching in developing their potential


  • Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the business and organisation


  • Partner with Managers and Senior Leaders at all levels offering direction on how to develop and implement the right people solutions to deliver the business strategy


  • Coach, support, mentor and influence managers and the HR team members in the application of HR policies and practices, provide advice and guidance on HR issues


  • Working with the Group (Dalkia UK and EDF teams) and leading the facilitation and management of all people programmes across Dalkia Energy Services (performance reviews, employee engagement surveys etc.)


  • Be responsible for the progression of Diversity and Inclusion within Dalkia Energy Services, to help us continue to build a truly inclusive culture where everyone can succeed


  • Monitor and manage information flow to Payroll in respect to new and existing employees, offers, changes, resignations to ensure compliance and governance in line with delegated authority levels


  • Encourage and own the Learning and Development plan for Dalkia Energy Services, helping develop our talent through building and roll out of career pathways from Apprentice through to Senior Leaders


  • Take a broad / long term perspective and proactively identify complex organisational challenges and think systematically


  • Work closely with the HR Team to define appropriate people initiatives and plans


  • Work on a number of HR projects and as well as on a number of culture related initiatives


  • Improve HR processes, practices and systems in line with changing environment


  • Prepare presentations and data/insights analysis working with other HR Teams and subject matter experts as required


  • Able to influence coach and drive impact through effective working relationships

  • Ideally 5+ years of HR experience at a senior leadership level in a fast- paced organisation
