Full Job Description

First 4 Drains Ltd is seeking a fully fledged, experienced HGV Mechanic to take charge of maintaining and servicing our diverse fleet of vehicles, comprising 20 HGV Lorries and 40 vans.

As a vital member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting servicing, repairs, and maintenance on our vehicles to ensure they operate at optimal performance levels. If you are a seasoned mechanic with a passion for excellence and a knack for troubleshooting, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

Perform 6 / 8 weekly routine servicing, inspections, and preventive maintenance on HGV Lorries and vans to uphold safety and performance standards.

Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems.

Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics using specialized tools and equipment to identify and rectify faults.

Carry out repairs and replacements of vehicle components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and hydraulic systems.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts usage, labor hours, and vehicle history.

Collaborate with other team members and departments to coordinate vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure timely completion of tasks.

Adhere to safety protocols, regulations, and best practices for vehicle maintenance and repair work.

As we continue to expand our operations and enhance our service offerings, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HGV Mechanic to join our team., Proven experience 10 years as an HGV mechanic, with expertise in servicing and repairing HGV Lorries and vans.

Certification or training in HGV maintenance and repair, such as NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.

Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, with proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.

Comprehensive knowledge of HGV systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and hydraulics.

Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
