Full Job Description

YOU WILL:

  • Lead and manage the team and set the standard for a well-run, friendly and fast-paced cafe and kitchen.

  • Prepare and cost varied seasonal menus, using local and artisan products; as well as showcasing our own products from the Handmade Scotch Egg Company!

  • Ensure high standards of Food Safety and Health and Safety at all times.

  • Ensure all team members are trained in all aspects of food preparation and food service.

  • Ensure the team have a full understanding of food allergens, dietary choices and preferences.

  • Ensure our coffee is served to a high standard at all times; and all cafe team members are fully barista trained.

  • Ensure customers are served in an efficient, timely and friendly manner.

  • Prepare and serve food from our seasonal breakfast, brunch and lunch menus; using fresh, local, artisan products.

  • Assist customers with all requirements by demonstrating great product and menu knowledge at all times.

  • Provide an excellent experience to each customer who visits the cafe, ensuring that all customer needs are exceeded.

  • Take orders at the till/counter and deliver food and drink to tables in a timely manner, as required.

  • Support the General Manager with the production and costing of weekly rotas; including covering absence and holidays.

  • Support the General Manager with the recruitment, selection, onboarding and induction of team members.

  • Support the General Manager with managing team performance, conduct and attendance.

  • Team welfare, wellbeing and morale.

    As a passionate hospitality professional, you will lead our busy cafe team in delivering an outstandingly memorable level of customer service.


  • Your positive leadership skills and experience, both front of house and in the kitchen, will play a vital part in ensuring an efficient cafe service.

    PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE AS A BARISTA AND CHEF IS REQUIRED, WITH A GOOD ALL ROUND FOOD AND BEVERAGE KNOWLEDGE; AS WELL AS EXPERIENCE OF MANAGING A TEAM IN A BUSY COUNTER-SERVICE CAFE ENVIRONMENT.

    This is a full time salaried management role, working hours as required (no less than 40 hours per week), 5 days out of 7, on a rota basis, including weekends.

    Little Verzons Farm is based on the main Ledbury to Hereford road, between Ledbury and Trumpet, with free parking on site.

    Due to our rural location, in the beautiful Herefordshire countryside and our flexible working hours; you will need transport to/from work.

    Pay: £29,000.00-£31,000.00 per year
