Full Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an administrative Legal Assistant/Legal Secretary to join a reputable firm in Leicester.

As an administrative Secretary/Assistant you will be expected to support the Fee Earners in our busy Property Department. Whilst we would like some legal background, full training will be provided and the ideal candidate must be highly efficient, possess a confident attitude and a pro-active approach to work.

The successful candidate must also have strong communication and organisational skills as well as being able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • working with Laser Forms and Drafting Legal Documents

  • being proficient with the Land Registry Portal and drafting of Land Registry forms and uploading applications for registration to the Land Registry

  • Preparation and file SDLT at HMRC.

  • Preparation and filing applications online with HMLR (AP1 Forms)

  • Undertaking searches.

  • Photocopying and maintaining stationery stock.

  • Bulk printing, arranging photocopying, copy-checking, indexing, file preparation and collation.

  • Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.

  • Extensive knowledge of legal terminology.

  • Able to communicate clearly with both clients and senior managers.

  • Excellent copy, digital dictation and audio typing ability.


  • The successful candidate must be able to work on their own initiative, produce high quality work, have a flexible, 'can do' approach and excellent typing and IT skills.Team playing skills are essential. This is an excellent opportunity to secure long term employment with a thriving and extremely busy legal Firm. This position is a full time position with working hours being 9am to 5.30pm.

    The position is currently based on minimum wage and appropriate to your age.

    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

    Pay: £8.60-£11.44 per hour
