Full Job Description

We are a partner-led, London-based law firm and a certified B Corp. We have the flexibility to service a wide range of clients across industry sectors. We are committed to excellence and deliver a client-focused, tailored, and bespoke service to both anticipate and meet our clients' needs in assisting them to achieve their short, mid and long-term objectives., This is a full mix marketing role and involves managing the marketing and business development function on a fixed term basis for 12 months.

  • Working alongside and managing the Marketing Executive for general marketing and business development projects on a firm-wide and team-by-team basis.

  • Leading on all profile raising initiatives, including managing all conference sponsorship opportunities, in-house hosted events and partnerships with key external stakeholders such as industry bodies.

  • Liaising with heads of teams on marketing activities throughout the year to maximise Joelson brand and sector initiatives.

  • Working with accounts team to explore, track, monitor and review business development activity from referrals and partnerships.

  • Monitoring budget spend and effectiveness of campaigns with ROI.


  • Managing Marketing Campaigns
  • Leading and managing the execution of in-house marketing practice and firm-wide events and measuring ROI.

  • Managing the firm's conference sponsorship management programme, ensuring the firm's sponsorship benefits are fully maximised. Managing relevant relationship partnerships with key external stakeholders such as industry bodies and event organisations.

  • Drafting and managing PR announcements and promotion of firm and practice news items.

  • Identify marketing awards and other networks and partnerships that align with Joelson target sectors.

  • Management of firm's directory and credential submissions.

  • Identify market leading initiatives for driving new business and brand awareness.

  • Managing budget and recommendations for marketing collateral and initiatives .

  • Review of marketing spend and ROI.

  • Management of the tone of voice and ensuring consistency across all internal and external comms.


  • Pitches and Proposals
  • Producing bespoke pitches, panel pitches and other client development presentations (formal and informal).

  • Create library of content for bid and pitch documentation.

  • Analysis of gaps with pitch submissions, success/failure ratios.

  • Review of suppliers and tools to provide cost-effective pitch collateral.


  • Client Care Programme
  • Build on the existing client feedback programme with a focus on client retention.

  • Work with compliance to understand and update client onboarding processes to ensure consistency and reputation is maintained at a high standard.

  • Provide regular client feedback reports to partnership including suggestions for changes., Being a responsible business is at the core of what we do.     Our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Proven experience of influencing and managing senior stakeholders.

  • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital/marketing campaigns that engage, inform and motivate.

  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in business development and marketing.

  • At least 5 years' experience of legal marketing or professional services.

  • An enthusiastic and confident manner, able to be persuasive and adaptable

  • Excellent project management skills; must be able to demonstrate experience of managing multiple projects and transforming a commercial issue into a business development opportunity.

  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing

  • Strong organisation and administration skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and multiple projects effectively

  • The ability to see matters through with a good eye for detail

  • A friendly and personable approach with colleagues and clients

  • A proactive and growth mindset towards achieving goals

  • Strong IT skills in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and preferred in Adobe Acrobat Pro, WordPress and MailChimp.
