This is a fantastic opportunity for a Model Based System Engineering Technical Specialist to join the Product Engineering department and help build and enhance JLR's Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) framework and techniques.

Within the role, you will collaborate with stakeholders from across the business to drive a consistent approach to Model Based System Engineering, support MBSE implementation through clear method definitions and training, and reduce inefficiencies caused by inconsistent modelling approaches in each domain.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Assessment of industry-standard Model-Based System Engineering frameworks, choose and adapt applicable frameworks and processes.

  • Ensure selected MBSE frameworks fulfil legislation and regulatory requirements including, but not limited to, ISO9001/IATF16949, ASPICE, ISO26262..

  • Lead and refine the roadmap for the MBSE framework, methodologies, tools, and training.

  • Identify enterprise-wide stakeholder problems and concerns which can be addressed with MBSE.

  • Monitor and react to changes in OMG standards and identify best practice such as from tool vendors and academia.

  • Manage and enhance the MBSE process and methodologies knowledge base.

  • Develop others in how to use and construct MBSE frameworks.

  • Develop critical performance measures for MBSE adoption.

Strong experience in application of Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) tools and techniques in the real world (preferably in the defence, rail, aerospace, or automotive industry).

  • Previous experience as a System Engineering practitioner across the whole System Engineering lifecycle

  • Direct experience of MBSE tool customisation

  • Experience of influencing business mindset and complex process change.

  • Deep understanding of the use and application of SysML.

  • Experience of model verification/validation - for example, by using simulation.

  • Working knowledge of MBSE and Requirements Tools (e.g. Dassault 3D EXPERIENCE, Catia Magic, IBM Rational Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect, DOORS, etc).

Bring all this to the home of premium innovation, and you'll find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team, a discounted car purchase and lease scheme for you and your family, membership of a competitive pension plan, private medical cover and performance related bonus scheme. As a manager, you'll also be able to select one of our luxury premium vehicles to lease at a fraction of the cost. All this and more makes JLR the perfect place to continue your journey.

  • This role may offer the opportunity for hybrid working where you can split your time between working from home and in the office. At JLR, hybrid working is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement providing employees with more choice and flexibility around how, when and where they work, if suitable for their role. Further details can be discussed with the Hiring Manager at interview stage.

JLR is committed to equal opportunity for all.
