Full Job Description

We are seeking a Part time Patient Services Advisor 20-30 hours per week for an immediate start to join our team at Northgate Health Centre.

The applicant will need to be a first-class communicator; able to work accurately and at pace whilst maintaining excellent customer service skills. You should be confident to work by yourself but equally, happy to work as part of a small team. Whilst it would be advantageous to have experience in an NHS setting, we are very happy to train the right applicant.

  • To take incoming calls from patients and other healthcare professionals and deal with their queries in a calm and professional manner, being able to work at pace

  • To undertake the registration of patients and deal appropriately with changes of address/name using the computer system. To have knowledge of the Practice Boundary (the area covered by our Practice)

  • To respond to patient enquiries via e-mail, post and via the website

  • To deal with the practice's incoming and outgoing mail

  • Filing and photocopying as required by the Practice

  • To scan documents and file them electronically

  • To undertake the amalgamation of new records received from external organisations

  • To undertake training as appropriate

  • To undertake any other administrative task reasonably requested of you by your line manager or Practice Manager


  • Working hours for this post will be across 3-4 working days, a mixture of hours between 7.45am & 6.30pm, we ensure that the hours covered are fair across the team.

  • GCSE or equivalent (preferred), Medical Receptionist: 1 year (preferred)

    £12.49 an hour - Permanent, Part-time, Temporary contract
