Plant and Vehicle Fitter

You will be part of a team responsible for maintaining the plant, vehicles and equipment used by SCD in its core line of business. You will maintain calibration and inspection schedules as required by legislation and our own internal standards, ensuring that all items out in the field are fit for purpose.,

• Responsible for the maintenance and repair of plant and equipment for SCD.


• Monitor and execute as preventative maintenance programme to assure cost effective maintenance and equipment up-time.


• Ensure maintenance is conducted in line with manufacturers specifications, legislative requirements and SCD's internal policies.


• Diagnose, weld, replace parts, repair parts, electrical systems, perform overhauls, troubleshoot problems when needed.


• Maintain records within SCD's management systems.


• Undertake repairs out of site and our of hours, as directly by the Plant and Transport Manager.


• Maintain availability for stand-by out of hours on a rota basis.
  
  You will have experience working in a similar environment, and working on everything from cars to HGVs, small tools to large excavators. You will have an understanding and knowledge of the regulatory requirements with regards to maintenance.


Ideally, you'll also have a telehandler operators licence or similar but this is not essential.

You must have a positive attitude to problem solving, and not be afraid of thinking outside of the box to find a solution. We are looking for a team player, who can join us and improve the skillset of our already-established warehouse team.

You must hold a full UK Driving Licence,
