Full Job Description

The following are the core responsibilities of the Prescribing Clerk Administrator. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels: a. Produce prescriptions for clinicians to authorise in an acceptable timeframe. b. Ensure all prscription requests are processed and are ready for collection within 48 working hours manner c. Generate requests for medication on behalf of the patient for non-repeat items d. Action any incoming emails e. Actively encourage patients to reconcile medications to facilitate monthly collections f. Act upon compliance issues with the appropriate clinician g. Ensure medication reviews are arranged by maintaining an accurate recall system h. Effectively liaise with external services i. Input data into the patients electronic health record j. Carry out system searches as required k. Review clinical letters ensuring they are coded and processed appropriately l. Action all incoming
correspondence in a timely manner m. Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times n. Support all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested o. Support the practice pharmacist as required p. Partake in audit as directed by the clinical lead
