Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Practitioner Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist to join our growing and multidisciplinary Pain Medicine department here at George Eliot Hospital. The post holder will need experience with and understanding of managing a complex caseload of persistent pain patients and delivering the department's Pain Management Programme.
In addition to the clinical duties of the role, there will be plenty of opportunity to be involved in service evaluation, transformation, research, audit, pathway development and quality improvement.
The post holder will work closely with Consultants in Pain Medicine as well as nursing and psychology colleagues.

+ To provide clinical leadership for the physical management of patients with persistent pain conditions.
+ To act as an expert Physiotherapy Practitioner and leader within the wider MSK Therapy Team.

+ Senior experience in specialist area
+ Recent NHS experience
+ Teaching/supervision/training of professional staff
+ Experience at Clinical Specialist
+ Experience of interpreting medical investigations such as pathology tests and X-Rays.
+ Membership of related special interest group
+ Exposure to strategic and political issues affecting advanced practice healthcare.
Qualification and Professional Training
+ Qualifying Degree in Physiotherapy
+ Registration with HCPC
+ Qualified, or working towards, Master's degree in relevant field i.e. have attained some modules and working towards full MSc or has full MSc
+ Recognised / validated postgraduate training in specialist area in particular in complex conditions (e.g. NMP)
+ Relevant evidence of CPD
Skills and Abilities
+ Up to date with effective professional practice and research.
+ Up to date with effective practice and research or related fields of practice.
+ Keep legible and accurate patients notes
+ Ability to organise, prioritise and delegate
+ Thorough understanding of clinical governance and its implications for service provision.
+ Sound knowledge of quality and audit/PDSA and how to implement change.
+ Ability to undertake and lead clinical research
+ Understanding of scope of practice issues and legal accountability & responsibilities.
+ Ability to comprehend, write and implement pathways, policies and guidelines.
+ Critical appraisal of clinical evidence and evidence based practice
+ Excellent written and spoken presentation skills

+ Able to work under pressure, diplomacy, resilience and robustness to work within an evolving clinical role and service.
+ Able to travel between sites and work at a variety of clinics across the county.
