Full Job Description

The site focuses on the manufacture and distribution of manual Immunoassay products. On site Purchasing, Logistics, Production, Quality Control and Process Development departments manage the supply chain, supported by local Sales Support, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs and Finance departments. As Group Headquarters, IDS Boldon also houses all head office functions.

We have an excellent opportunity available to join our Production Team in Boldon, working within our laboratory to produce immunoassay products for our customers and supporting us with our mission to expand the boundaries of human health through science!

This is a varied role, where you will work on the production of a wide range of different products and supporting with all elements of the production process from creation through to packing.

Principal Accountabilities

Manufacture a wide range of products in accordance with the appropriate procedures and methods, ensuring that we meet customer demands
Assist in maintenance of stocks - cycle counting of raw materials and components
Maintenance / development of Quality System (ISO 13485 / cGMP)
Preventative maintenance, calibration and testing of laboratory equipment
Process Validation (current and new products / equipment)
Take good care of the health and safety of yourself and team members

  • A levels or equivalent - (Mathematics and Science preferred)

  • OR Qualified by Experience (2 years + in a complex, regulated production / laboratory environment)


  • Skills & Knowledge
  • Understanding of manufacture of products in complex, regulated environment

  • Understanding of workflow relationships between Production and other departments

  • Understanding of immunoassay (desirable)

  • Demonstrate good organisational skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines

  • Good communication skills

  • Ability to work as part of a team, departmentally and inter departmentally

  • A self starter who is able to work independently

  • Ability to work to Quality system

  • Ability to operate laboratory equipment used in production

  • Microsoft Office skills


  • Experience
  • Laboratory experience gained from education and other manufacturing experience

  • Experience of ISO 13485 Standard, GMP and stock control
