Registered Veterinary Nurse - Out of hours

Are you a dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse with a flair for delivering exceptional wards-based nursing care? Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists invites individuals like you to join our dynamic night team and embark on an exciting journey.

As the day transitions into night, our exceptional team of 1 discipline-specific intern on rotation, 12 skilled RVNs and 7 dedicated VCAs gracefully step into action, poised to provide unparalleled care throughout the twilight hours. On average, our night shift is supported by a team of 3-4 dedicated night nurses, complemented by 2 twilight nurses, and three VCAs working diligently in the wards each night. From the peaceful twilight hours to the serene depths of the night, we offer a reassuring and expert touch, ensuring the utmost care for every beloved patient in our charge.

Our facility boasts an anaesthesia team available around the clock for out-of-hours emergency procedures, as well as dedicated specialists on call for each discipline to provide emergency support for inpatients. We house two primary dog wards, an ICU/high-dependency unit, and a separate cat ward, ensuring comprehensive care tailored to each patient's needs.

Our case load varies significantly, offering a diverse and challenging environment for our team. We are committed to supporting our nurses in their professional development, offering opportunities to pursue certificates, diplomas, and VTS qualifications to enhance their expertise and further their careers.

  Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists is a multidisciplinary referral centre, located in the South of England, close to the New Forest National Park and South Coast, offering easy access to a multitude of outdoor activities. Bournemouth beach has just been voted number one beach in the UK by Tripadvisor and is only a 20-minute drive from the practice. The area also offers good access to regional and international airports, with excellent road and rail links to London.
  
  This is a full-time permanent role, working 39 hours per week with 13-hour shifts and various rotation options.
