Full Job Description

We are looking for a Health, Safety and Environmental Senior Manager to head up the Central Health and Safety team, working across Yeo Valley to ensure the safety of our co-owners.
You will head up a team of 4 SHE Business Partners, all looking after each of the manufacturing sites, providing great team management and steer for each of the sites they are responsible for.,

  • Actively contribute to the development of the long term business strategy, ensuring SHE requirements and best practices are fully incorporated with particular emphasis through the Passionate People strategy group.

  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise to ensure that evolving SHE legal and ISO standards continue to be correctly interpreted and incorporated in our policy frameworks and operating practices.

  • Build trusted relationships across the business, coaching and challenging leaders to inform, support and enable them to agree progressive Safety, Health & Environmental policies, standards and outcome objectives.

  • Actively champion SHE requirements to ensure that they are fully integrated in our operational procedures and training.

  • Support managing SHE risks by challenging and validating our systems, processes and compliance to Legal & ISO requirements through training, audits and coaching.

  • Develop and lead a programme of continuous improvement in respect of our SHE practices and outcomes.

  • Identify SHE specific learning needs and work in partnership with the L&D team to identify appropriate development solutions to meet them.

  • Inspire, develop and lead the SHE Business Partner team, supporting SHE policy and outcome delivery across our sites and co-owner communities.

  • Create an environment of engagement and influence with respect to SHE consistent with our co-ownership philosophy and to enable continuous improvement

  • Subject Matter Expert to the Executive Team and the Board providing data, insight and guidance to the Directors to enable them to effectively discharge their legal and moral responsibilities with respect to Safety, Health and Environment.

  • Lead our SHE interactions with external Regulators, Auditor's and Insurers to ensure these relationships are managed effectively and the expertise they offer is used to further inform and benefit our policies and operating practices.

  • Lead member of the incident management team ensuring effective best practice response to any serious and / or complex SHE event.
