Senior Support Worker

We are looking to recruit compassionate, hard working dynamic candidates to join our wonderful team supporting children, with learning disabilities, challenging behavior and mental health in a children's home.

Here at Footsteps care, we pride ourselves on supporting children and young people to reach their full potential. We require all staff to be compassionate, empowering, kind, enthusiastic, understanding and be able to work on their initiative as well as working as part of a dynamic team to strive for the best outcomes for all the children in our care.

This is a busy children's home caring for up to eight children of varying ages and abilities. Ideally, candidates will have at least one years experience in a caring background with children however; full training can be given to those applying without experience. Ideally, candidates will have a level 3 in residential care but again, this is not essential, providing candidates are willing to embark on the level 3 once they have commenced employment.

Duties include caring for the children in our home on a daily basis. Meeting their daily needs, supporting them to access the community, join clubs, attend college and support them with any homework. The children may require support with some personal care. Staff will attending meetings and appointments, record and report writing, some domestic duties, planning menu's and cooking meals and assisting them in any area's of their daily living where there is a requirement.

There is an expectation on staff to care and support the children in every aspect of their life and to manage their complexities and emotions sensitively.

The role is FULL TIME ONLY. We only have Day positions available. (Full time - rota based, shifts will be allocated over 7 days a week at an average of 40 hours a week. you will have at least 2 days of per week. Your days off will vary from week to week, so full flexibility is required.)

We do not hold a sponsorship license and will not be able to sponsor candidates.

As this is a full time position, you will be required to work full time hours all the time. Applicants on student visas will not fit the criteria.

Minimum of 2 year experience as a RSW.
