Soft Services Operative (Porter / Janitor)

Facilities' main function is to manage the estate, ensuring that all assets are properly maintained and held within compliance with all health and safety and associated guidelines and policies. Facilities staff are also responsible for soft facilities management, including security, reception, cleaning, portering and catering services., Provide facilities support to the John Innes Centre, Earlham Institute and The Sainsbury Laboratory located on the Norwich Research Park including caretaking duties, porter services, basic repairs/maintenance works, external/internal building and grounds cleaning, and event setups. The post holder will assist in the provision of a comprehensive range of soft services to ensure that buildings are safe, kept clean and in good repair.

The ideal candidate will have recent experience of caretaker/porter duties or similar e.g. furniture/equipment movement, waste handling, minor repairs, maintenance tasks as well as recent experience of working in a multi-faceted environment. They will be task orientated with an eye for detail and the ability to work through problems by finding a safe and practical solution. Must hold a clean UK driving licence.

This is a full-time, permanent post of 37 hours per week, on a shift rotation basis between the hours of 7am and 8pm.
