Full Job Description

Renishaw's Industrial Automation Product Division (IAPD) is currently seeking enthusiastic, self-driven and forward-thinking Software/System Engineers to work within our multi-disciplinary group. The successful applicants will help support and develop new products that will make a disruptive impact on metrology within the Industrial Automation sector, and will work alongside our fast-paced, agile, new product research team.
As a member of our group, you will contribute to the creation, development, and release of innovative metrology solutions for the industrial automation industry. You will get the opportunity to work with a range of subject matter experts across the business and build strong working relationships within the team.
Responsibilities

  • Provide existing product development support for IAPD's early range of products, developing new metrology solutions for the industrial automation market.

  • Provide software support for early phase IAPD research products.

  • Create, maintain and adapt prototype code for early experiments.

  • Design bespoke test harnesses to perform mechanical and electrical functionality tests.

  • Aid with analysis and interpretation of experimental data.

  • Collaborate with multiple teams to design robust software specifications to support continuous product development.

  • The ideal candidate will be passionate about developing their existing skillset and show a desire to learn about new technologies.

    Degree level qualification in a technical/ mathematical background, or equivalent industrial experience.

  • Experience with numerical analysis tools/programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, C/C++/C#, R.

  • Interest in control theory/robotics/mechatronics.


  • Desirable requirements
  • Experience with working in embedded/Real-time environment

  • Experience with source control - ideally Git

  • Linux/Unix experience

  • Basic knowledge/experience of metrology

  • Developing applications with CAD and/or graphics functionality

  • Full clean driving license
