Aspiring Head of Maths

Location: Kettering Science Academy

Salary: MS/UPS plus TLR1d or 1c (dependent upon experience)

Hours per week: Full time, Permanent

We are seeking a talented, ambitious and hardworking colleague to join our Maths team in an exciting role as an Aspiring Head of Maths. This is a new role which has been created to help us on the next stage of our development journey. KSA achieved an Ofsted 'Good' in July 2023, and we are now looking to consolidate and embed our practice where it matters most - in the classroom and at middle leadership level.

We are particularly interested in hearing from colleagues who have already had experience of department leadership within a Maths team - perhaps as a second in department, or key stage lead. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate impact in raising standards, developing curriculum and pedagogy, and leading other colleagues. The successful candidate will play a lead role in helping shape the next phase of improvement in this core subject and will be someone who will be ready to be a Head of Department within 12-24 months. The successful candidate will be provided with a bespoke programme to help develop them for the Head of Maths role and this will involve coaching and mentoring support from colleagues within the school and within Brooke Weston Trust more widely, including the Trust Director of Maths.

You will be joining KSA at a time where we are setting out an ambitious plan for the future based around three key themes of belonging, reflection, and collaboration. Ultimately, we exist to enable everyone connected with the school to be the best they can be. We are clear that all children deserve our unwavering and unconditional regard, and we have ambitious plans for making this a reality in all our classrooms and in all our interactions.

If you enjoy being challenged and are not afraid to offer challenge, if you believe that it is our duty to ensure that all children have a voice and can be themselves, and if you want to be part of a team who believes that anything is possible, then this is the role for you.

What we can offer you:

· Daily allowance for breakfast and lunch.

· A modern building with fantastic facilities and resources.

· A supportive and friendly community of staff and students.

· A full induction programme.

· Access to BWT Ambition Hub training and development programmes.
