Full Job Description

This is a 'second-line of defence' advisory role for a motivated privacy professional, working with the various business teams and stakeholders and advising on:

  • All aspects of global privacy laws and regulations including data protection, retention, security, and data breach reporting requirements

  • Providing results-driven privacy support to all business units and functions within the Paysafe Group

  • Assisting with the continued development and improvement of the Paysafe Privacy Programme e.g. use of assurance tools, 3rd party vendor management, Privacy by Design, Privacy Impact Assessments, employee training and promoting the privacy ethos across the Group, etc.


  • The role will include assisting in all the main privacy areas for a global company, including:
  • implementing the 'Global Privacy Policy' and accompanying 'Standards' globally across all Group companies and employees

  • monitoring and undertaking assurance of compliance with the Privacy Standards, policies and procedures and liaising with Internal Audit

  • carrying out Privacy / Data Protection Impact Assessments

  • investigation and management of potential data breaches and privacy incidents

  • advising on cross border data transfers

  • providing pragmatic and risk-based advice on marketing initiatives, particularly electronic marketing

  • ensuring that Data Protection requirements are in place in Systems processing personal data

  • monitor, annually review and amend as appropriate the global DP registrations and notification(s)

  • provide formal compliance reporting to the Chief and Deputy Chief Privacy Officer

  • providing advice on projects and to act as a key point of contact on Privacy issues

  • reviewing and advising on Data Protection contractual terms and notices

    At least 3 years relevant experience as a Privacy professional

  • Practical experience in privacy and a thorough understanding of the GDPR and its implications, preferably within an international organisation

  • Experience of providing pragmatic, risk-based Privacy advice

  • Understanding of information and communications technology and related operations

  • Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad range of privacy matters in a regulated industry

  • Ability to travel as required

  • Ability to collaborate and build strong stakeholder relationships

  • Excellent communication skills, able to simplify the complicated

  • Capable of influencing at all levels of the organisation in a friendly and constructive manner

  • Ability to provide Privacy advice in a commercial context

  • Strong Microsoft Office and IT skills

  • Organisational skills - able to run multiple initiatives in parallel with competing deadlines

  • Understanding of technical systems and processes in the collection, storage and transfer of data

  • Ability to carry out research and quickly digest new and emerging Privacy/ Data Protection requirements and provide practical and commercial advice on their implications to the Paysafe business


  • Note: this is a second-line of defence role for a motivated privacy professional. You will need to demonstrate practical privacy experience in a private sector company. The candidate we are looking for must be able to demonstrate they have the right personal qualities and approach and be constructive, collaborative, helpful, open, honest, influential, motivated, dedicated and have the ability to work in a high-pressure, multicultural and international environment.

    Desirable experience
  • Working in Payments industry

  • Providing advice on international Privacy laws

  • Working within Enterprise Risk Management/Operational Risk Management frameworks

  • Providing advice to IT and Information Security teams

  • Working with Compliance

  • Understanding of PCI-DSS and Card Scheme Rules

  • Use of OneTrust privacy tooling, Degree in Law or similar

  • IAPP qualification/s CIPP/E, CIPM,etc.

  • Post Graduate certification in one or more of data protection/privacy, legal, compliance, information technology, risk management, ISO certifications

    To support the Chief Privacy Officer, Deputy and Privacy Team in ensuring that all Paysafe Group companies comply with applicable international data protection and privacy laws globally and provide appropriate risk-based privacy advice to the various business lines to support commercial growth of the Group.

    To act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Data Protection / Privacy laws including the GDPR, PIPEDA and CCPA (as amended by CPRA) and be willing to develop knowledge of applicable privacy laws globally within the financial services and e-payments industry.
