Caretaker / Maintenance

We are seeking a caretaker / maintenance technician to join the maintenance team working at a specialist school supporting students aged 11-10 with complex needs including Autism, based in Wakefield.

Your role will be to assist in the overall maintenance of the site by ensuring that all the buildings and grounds are kept in good order, clean and ready for use.

With a strong emphasis on Health & Safety; you'll be expected to ensure that the buildings and grounds are continually fit for purpose for students, residents and staff to enable them to fulfil their roles

• Experience in Carpentry or Grounds Maintenance highly desirable


• General maintenance experience and building services experience


• The ability to work alone and perform a high level of physical work (including the collection and movement of materials, equipment and furniture).


• Organised, motivated, ability to prioritise and a team player.


• A full driving licence., Working as a Caretaker / Maintenance technician: 2 years (required)


• Working within a school / care setting: 1 year (preferred)


• Maintenance / Trades: 1 year (required)
