Full Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Chef to join our team, who is hungry to learn in a different kitchen environment whilst using their experience and knowledge to grow . As a Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the food production and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. You will work in a fast-paced open kitchen, takeaway environment, leading a team to serve the finest Fish & Chips in Nottingham.
Duties:
- Plan and execute menus, taking into consideration dietary restrictions and customer preferences
- Prepare and cook dishes according to recipes and quality standards
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training as needed
- Monitor food inventory and order supplies as necessary
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen
- Collaborate with management to develop new menu items and specials
- Manage food costs and minimize waste
- Maintain a positive working environment, fostering teamwork and open communication
Proven experience working in a restaurant or hospitality setting as a Chef or similar role
- Strong knowledge of food production techniques, culinary trends, and best practices
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and procedures
- Ability to lead and motivate a team of kitchen staff
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Skills:
- Food production: Demonstrated ability to prepare a variety of dishes using different cooking techniques.
- Food safety: Knowledge of proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
- Restaurant: Experience working in a restaurant setting, understanding the dynamics of a fast-paced environment.
- Culinary: Proficiency in culinary techniques, including knife skills, flavor combinations, and recipe development.
- Hospitality: Understanding the importance of providing excellent customer service in a hospitality-driven industry.
- Team management: Ability to lead, train, and motivate a team of kitchen staff.
- Cook: Proficient in cooking techniques such as grilling, frying, baking, etc.
- Kitchen: Familiarity with kitchen equipment, tools, and processes.
- Supervising: Experience overseeing kitchen operations and ensuring smooth workflow.
