Full Job Description

We're looking for a Commercial Analyst to join us at Confused.com, playing a a key role in driving the performance of some of our key insurance product lines. You will develop a cohesive understanding across the entire product funnel, including marketing channel efficiency, customer journey performance and insurance partner panel metrics.

You'll ideally have come from an analytical background, with the skills to view data critically and objectively. This role represents a chance to work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with several teams throughout Confused.com, other brands within the RVU group, and external partner relationships.

Working closely with the Head of the team, the insight you produce will help to shape key trading, performance and commercial decisions. You'll be able to work independently, using your understanding of key operational levers to proactively ask and answer questions on key areas of focus impacting business performance. You'll also work closely with stakeholders in teams across the business, including product and proposition design, data integration and performance management.

What you'll be doing:

  • Working with internal teams to integrate and optimise product and proposition experiences through the innovative use of data

  • Managing the execution of key strategic initiatives, leveraging project management skills to coordinate amongst stakeholders across a number of different functions to deliver results with a high degree of rigour and urgency

  • Helping to provide a view of end-to-end product performance to key stakeholders, including the impact of marketing channels, customer experience, pricing and customer retention, working closely with other analysts and Finance teams

  • Assisting with developing our product strategy, including how product lines can operate more efficiently

  • Providing guidance to key stakeholders to meet trading performance objectives

  • Seeking and developing new business opportunities from initial conversations, through contract agreement to product delivery

  • Supporting the selection and integration of suitable third-party product providers, while managing and leveraging those relationships to achieve business outcomes

    A commercial and analytical mindset

  • Innovative thinking, with the ability to creatively identify and assess new business opportunities

  • Experience with tools such as PowerBI or Tableau


  • Numbers-orientated, with a keen eye for detail


  • Proven communication skills, with the ability to accurately express product and proposition requirements

  • Highly organised, with the ability to plan and prioritise a number of tasks to deliver results, working across multiple teams

  • Experience managing commercial relationships with external parties
