Contracts Manager

· Management of projects with potential values from £50k to £2m, with a fully integrated and dynamic relationship between design, construction and commercial activities

· Working alongside the commercial and technical teams to ensure the schemes are delivered to specification, programme and on budget

· Source subcontract labour

· Create suitable Risk Assessments & Method Statements prior to project commencement

· Supervising Site Managers, Subcontractors and internal staff on a daily basis

· Monitoring each stage of construction as work proceeds to ensure a quality product

· Meeting with Main Contractors and Site Managers to discuss build progress

· Managing and ensuring the Health & Safety of the entire site

· Maintaining quality & safety control procedures

· Preparing site reports and checking designs and drawings

· Motivating and driving the workforce in a productive and time effective manner

· Monitoring performance against construction programme to ensure targets are met and completions are on time

· Controlling additional costs for non-productive and prelim expenditure to ensure project is within budget

· Liaise with all departments to support the progression of the project and ensure information, materials and labour are available

· You must have prior experience as a Contracts Manager or have proven experience of working in a senior role in the construction industry managing multiple projects and be familiar with the accompanying challenges and issues

· The ability to display a high level of leadership, management, organisational and communication skills is essential, as well as a high level of Health and Safety awareness, · Ability to plan and supervise multiple contracts

· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

· Energetic, motivated and adaptable to ever changing priorities

· Ability to interpret contract drawings and specifications

· Solutions focused approach

· Excellent negotiation and management capability

· Good working knowledge of contracts and health & safety legislation

· Relevant professional qualifications e.g. SMSTS, NVQ in Construction Management, CSCS

· Full UK driving licence with no more than three penalty points

· Competent in MS Outlook & Excel
