Full Job Description

  • Prepare residents meals and maintain a well-balanced nutritious diet (Taking into consideration special dietary needs and requirements as set out in Residents Care Plans, and residents menu choices)

  • Ensure food stock supplies are monitored and deliveries are correct, and all food are temperature probed, recorded, stored correctly and stock rotated.

  • Maintain a high standard of food preparation and implement the requirements set out by the Environment Health and Local Authority for the Home, the Food Safety Act 1990, and the Food Hygiene (England) Regulations 2005. (Personal appearance must be of an acceptable level. Uniform provided must be worn, hair covered or tied back. Sensible enclosed non-slip shoes to be worn.)

  • Qualified and experienced to cook and prepare food in a kitchen setting

  • Referral programme, At Black Swan Care Group, we are currently looking for a cook/chef to work in one of our residential care facilities, Valentine House on a part time, 24h/pw, permanent basis, £12.50 per hour.


  • Valentine House is a residential care facility for the elderly and residents living with dementia located in Silver End, a small village in Essex, between Braintree and Witham.
