Full Job Description

As an Equipment Operative, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll have the opportunity to maintain and service fire and rescue equipment.

Day to day, you'll carry out servicing, cleaning, and maintenance on emergency service equipment; this could be search cameras, working at height equipment and various other pieces of fire and rescue equipment. You'll also carry out testing high volume hoses, infantry checks, replenishment of stock and completing paperwork / updating asset data management system.

  • Carry out basic day-to-day servicing, cleaning and maintenance duties on equipment as instructed

  • Support your area colleague and area supervisor/manager maintain and achieve set productivity targets

  • Assist in the stowage of vehicles, modules, equipment and consumable stores

  • Accurately complete inventory checks within required time frames

  • Ensure all service documents are accurately completed and submit within the required time frames


  • This position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time.

    This role is full time, 40 hours per week and is based on site at Bardon.

    Typical working pattern will be 5 days week one and 4 days a week two.

    Week 1: Monday-Thursday 07:00am - 4:30pm. and Friday 07:00 - 3:30pm
    Week 2: Monday -Thursday 07:00 - 4:30pm

  • Attention to detail

  • Good work ethic

  • Labouring or a maintenance background would be beneficial but not essential

  • Forklift Truck Licence would be beneficial, but it would be 10% of the job only, We value difference and don't have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and/or willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you., The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard BPSS security clearance for this role.
