Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Finance team as a Finance Manager - Financial Control on a 12-month FTC basis based in the Darlington office (hybrid working)., The Finance Manager position will be responsible for financial control activities within the Financial Control Centre of Excellence, with a specific focus on Finance risk management oversight, internal controls monitoring and associated reporting. Key to delivery in this role will be working closely with Finance and Business stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be an experienced qualified Finance Manager, with experience of co-ordinating regulatory and statutory reporting, financial controls policy and month-end close processes within a Financial Services environment. You will proactively identify and drive the delivery of an agenda for continuous improvement both in terms of quality and efficiency, across the processes and systems, and champion automation where feasible. You will have a risk-based mind-set, ensuring oversight of financial control policy, and development of risk and internal control MI reporting (including Key Performance Indicators and controls assurance testing).

To succeed in this role, high attention to detail and the ability to prioritise your workload to meet the various deadlines is key. You will have the ability to effectively communicate and build effective relationships with various stakeholders across the business including Finance teams, Finance BPs, and Business stakeholders. We are looking for an individual who is self-directed and can take ownership of tasks, who's keen to role model a positive can-do attitude. As a Finance Manager, you will be analytical in your approach to allow you to effectively identify and resolve potential discrepancies discovered as part of the transformation journey.
