Full Job Description

Knutsford Amateur Swimming Club (Knutsford Vikings) in Cheshire is looking for an ambitious Head Coach to lead our existing team of experienced teachers and coaches. You will be responsible for developing the high-quality swim programme for our vibrant club of swimmers from Swim England Stage 7 through to competing at county, regional and national levels.

You will be a qualified coach, enthusiastic about advancing swimming throughout the club. You will have the ability to inspire, develop and motivate all ability levels and communicate effectively with swimmers, coaches, parents and the committee so that all our members both enjoy swimming and achieve their full potential.

Keen to attend galas to encourage and support all our swimmers, you will be supported by our existing fantastic coaching team.

Poolside coaching will involve early mornings, evenings and weekends for a minimum of 8.5 hours per week (Performance Squad) but up to 13 hours per week across the club plus occasional long course training elsewhere. In addition, there will be attendance at weekend meets plus time for administration and planning.

You will:

Plan and deliver, collaboratively with the coaching team, a coordinated training programme across all swim groups, and manage the coaching rota.

Plan the competition calendar and encourage attendance as well as take an active role in selection for Arena League and other team galas

Support, motivate and manage the coaching team

Communicate effectively and develop a positive working partnership with all swimmers and parents

Contribute to social media posts celebrating our success.
