Interim Financial Controller

We have a great opportunity for a dynamic and energetic Interim Financial Controller to join our busy finance team. You will be based at our Northampton office but the role will require you to travel to offices in Derby and South Yorkshire.

Reporting to the Finance Director you will need professional confidence as well as technical ability.

As interim Financial Controller, you will be hands-on in approach and confident joining a business and getting up to speed quickly.

Your main priority will be integration of financial accounts and procedures for a new operation ensuring that Acumen's current procedures are implemented and followed.

Your background will be strong technically with experience of financial and statutory accounting, reporting, controls and compliance.

Along with the above, the role will initially include the below with a view to handing over to existing staff.

· Quarterly VAT return

· Monthly balance sheet reconciliations

· Maintenance of fixed asset register

· Monthly management account duties to include:

o Accruals and prepayments

o Fixed asset postings

o Revenue review

o Payroll postings

. Resolve specific accounting queries as they arise

Professional Qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA),

• IT literate with advanced Microsoft Excel skills essential to this role


• Excellent analytical skills


• Effective communication skills - internally and externally


• Ability to interface at all levels
