DevOps:

• Work with dev and test teams to create new automation jobs


• Maintain existing automation jobs


• Embed the DevOps mindset throughout the company and be a DevOps advocate/guru

Client IT Support:

Product deployment/upgrades:

• Installation of software and configuration on complex client systems.


• Enactment of backout plan if deployment fails.


Release Management:

• Tracking what software and configuration has been deployed where and when.


• Ensuring the correct engineers are available/on standby during a deployment.


• Creating/maintaining change management documentation for deployments.


• Conduct retrospectives.


Support

• Refine and follow the Incident management process.


• Refine and follow the Problem Management process, including root cause analysis, creation of knowledge articles.


• Identify tools, common themes and create strategies to improve reliability and the user experience.


• Shift activities from fix on fail to routine and aim for 100% availability.


• Build effective relationships with all stakeholders.


Skills

Essential:

• Salary is negotiable depending on experience, Silicon Grid Ltd create software used in real-time control of large generators, such as wind farms and solar farms, allowing by electricity network operators to protect and optimise their electricity networks. Client base is predominantly UK, is growing throughout Europe and rest of world.


We are a small Manchester based development team, handling product design, development, client driven changes, testing, deployment, training and on-going support. We don't ware suits and ties.
