Nursery Cook (Flexible hours)

To organise, cook and prepare a healthy balanced diet for children in our care. Brand new kitchen facilities - which you can make your own!,

• To be responsible for the weekly shopping list ensuring that you have sufficient ingredients to follow the settings menu and to provide food for the number of children in the setting.


• To prepare meals according to individual dietary requirements where necessary.


• To ensure meals and snacks are safely prepared, nutritionally balanced, of good quality and appropriate in quantity following government recommendations for Early Years and Child Care Settings.


• To have an understanding about regulations relating to allergies.


• To co-ordinate the serving of a two course mid-day meal, a light tea and an afternoon snack.


• To wash-up and put away the crockery, cutlery and all equipment used to prepare meals and what has been used for dinning.


• To have effective communication systems in place to ensure appropriate information is passed on.


• To be responsible for hygiene and risk assessments within the kitchen area, including all required record keeping.


• To be responsible for food safety within the setting including all safety checks relating to food storage and preparation .


• To maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness within the kitchen area.
