Full Job Description

Working in a team and reporting directly to the Accounts Manager, You are responsible for providing all-round general support to a busy accounts office:

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for taking incoming calls and emails from trade and commercial customers and suppliers.

  • It is therefore imperative you take detailed & accurate information during your calls asking a series of question to ascertain the customer needs.

  • You will have a clear, concise, and professional telephone manner and the ability to question the customer or supplier for their individual requirement.

  • Entering accurate details on to the relevant computerised databases.

  • Entering details of transactions onto the transport and accounts software. Word and Excel are also used so experience would be advantageous, although training can be given.

  • Working closely with the transport team.

  • Updating customer and supplier files accordingly and in a timely manner

  • To process verification paperwork accurately and to agreed timescales.

  • To ensure that all legal compliances are adhered to.


  • Health and Safety
  • Must carry out all duties in accordance with the company health and safety policy.

  • Must follow the correct procedure when identifying risks to health and safety.

  • Must report all accidents and near miss incidents without fail.
