Full Job Description

We are actively in pursuit of an accomplished Paint Programmes Engineer, poised to play a pivotal role in advancing our Paint Manufacturing and Engineering realm.

You will be at the forefront of the Launch phase, which involves planning the execution of the programme requirements for prototype builds and eventual increase in volume to intended line rates.

Your mission? To focus on model integration and involves working within a small team. You will work as part of this team with a range of stakeholders to ensure the successful development and introduction of new models and technologies. The team are tasked with delivering manufacturing processes with ever-improving efficiency, effective costs and reduced environmental impact.

The Manufacturing Engineering Paint Team are responsible for all new vehicle introductions, model year changes, new colours and integration of new technologies to deliver exterior vehicle finish. The role requires involvement from early product development through to a handover of a volume manufacturing-ready process.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Application of Lean Manufacturing and Design concepts

  • Assess advanced design themes / models to ensure compliance and compatibility with Paint Shop processes

  • Produce and Review Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA) documents to ensure risks are mitigated

  • Manage technical issues and escalate where appropriate

  • Support and direct virtual build events, raising and managing issues where appropriate

  • Develop processes as a basis for plant work instructions

    A strong understanding of Manufacturing / Engineering Processes, Tools & Techniques

  • Good Automotive Paint Shop Experience

  • Experience of Automotive Model Design & Development

  • Knowledge or experience of wax, paint and sealer applications and programming

  • Evidence of an innovative approach to technical Problem Solving and Process Development

  • Knowledge of Dassault software (CATIA, DELMIA, 3DX Platform)
