Full Job Description

Working at our site in Swinton and reporting to the Manufacturing Team Leader, you will be joining the main foundry 'Direct Chill' casting team, following manufacturing procedures as safely and efficiently as possible to fulfil production plans, working in our magnesium unit.
Your duties will include, although will not be limited to:

  • Operating process equipment and machinery (semi and fully automated)

  • Proactively participating in our lean initiatives to help ensure continuous improvement within the plant

  • Monitoring processes and recording parameters for production records, log sheets and SAP transactions

  • Taking ownership and accountability for the safety of the production areas

  • Packing of finished goods into drums, bags, on to pallets and other forms of containers for transportation, including use of Fork Lift Trucks (counterbalance)

  • Performing analysis to ensure product quality

  • Aiding in identifying the root cause of production issues

    Proven experience in a similar Operator role in a foundry environment

  • Superb communication and organisational skills

  • Safety conscious, with a high level of attention to detail

  • IT literate

  • A team player, with a positive, proactive and flexible approach to work


  • Although not essential, an up-to-date Fork Lift Truck licence would be advantageous.
