Full Job Description

Benefact Group are looking for a Project Accountant to join Ecclesiastical on an interim basis for 6 months, based at our Gloucester office.

This role provides an opportunity to be a key part of a growing and dynamic area of the business. You will assist the UK General Insurance Finance Team in providing financial support to key projects.

  • To support the project teams in compiling, monitoring, and reporting project costs, guaranteeing the accuracy and correctness of the data

  • Preparing monthly data (cash and P&L) for management accounts.

  • Assist with analysis of results to support the leadership team and Group Finance requirements, including helping to spot and analyse overruns, discrepancies, and monthly variances.

  • Assist in preparing the monthly re-forecast for key projects, to deliver a robust and reliable view of outturn for the year.

  • Capital expenditure reconciliation and analysis for tax.

  • Taking part in the annual budget preparation and 4-year planning

  • Ensuring that agreed standards of financial control and risk management are embedded in all business processes.

  • Support the delivery of complex business cases, modelling and supporting benefit tracking through the design of appropriate measures and governance.

  • Support the UK GI Team by providing ad-hoc analysis, insights and reports as requested.

  • Actively expand personal technical knowledge both informally (networking internally and externally, internet, industry press) and formally (In-house training, CPD)

    Qualified Accountant (preferential)

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Excellent organisational skills

  • Positive, enthusiastic, pro-active with a can-do attitude

  • Attention to detail.

  • Strong Excel skills

  • Basic numeracy skills

  • Insurance sector and industry knowledge is preferred

  • Project accounting experience for large scale IT projects (preferential)
