Full Job Description

DAD is looking for a person committed to equality and peoples rights, who wants to make a real difference through the delivery and development of Oliver McGowan training in the North East leading to improving lives of people with a learning disability and autistic people locally. In addition the collaborative is supporting agencies to develop their own capacity to train their workforce.

Comprehensive training will be provided including becoming a lead trainer, this enables the post holder to train other people to become trainers. It is likely this will involve a 5-day residential stay in another part of the country.

The role....

  • Train as a lead trainer to deliver Oliver McGowan training

  • Recruit, train and support co-trainers who have a learning impairment and autistic people to co-deliver Oliver McGowan training.

  • Work with other agencies both statutory and non-statutory to identify how we can support their work force to receive Oliver McGowan Training.

  • Attend meetings and steering groups in relation to the project.

  • Undertake administration including monitoring, evaluating and report writing.

    Salary: £26,000 to £27,000 per annum pro rata dependent on experience and skills.


  • Hours: 25 hours per week

    Holidays: 25 days plus Bank Holidays per annum pro rata
