Full Job Description

  • Review project plans, specifications, and requirements to understand the scope of work and project objectives.

  • Conduct site visits and inspections to assess project conditions, materials, and labor requirements.

  • Analyse project drawings and other documentation to identify project components and determine quantities of materials needed.

  • Obtain and review quotes from subcontractors and suppliers to accurately estimate project costs.

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labour, materials, equipment, and overhead expenses, using estimating software or spreadsheets.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to solicit tenders and gather relevant information for project estimates.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and availability of materials and services.

  • Present cost estimates and proposals to clients and participate in bid meetings to address questions and negotiate terms.

  • Track and update project costs throughout the bidding process and provide support to project managers during project execution.

  • Stay informed about industry trends, material costs, and labour rates to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.

    We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team. The Construction Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of construction projects, analysing project specifications and requirements, and preparing competitive bids to secure contracts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams., Proven experience as a construction estimator, preferably in the commercial construction industry.

  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.

  • Proficiency in construction estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of legal and contractual requirements related to construction tender process and contracts.

  • Professional certification (e.g., Certified Professional Estimator) is a plus., GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
