We're going places, so apply today and become part of our exciting journey., The role of Project Support Engineer is to provide assistance to the Performance Engineer and the technical team on all safety, reliability and technical issues on the vehicles. As the Project Support Engineer, you will analyse vehicle data, client reports and defects along with other sources of information to maintain safe and reliable vehicles for use in passenger service. The role may on occasion involve some UK and Europe travel to engage with other CAF projects or suppliers.

Your daily duties will include:

• Assist in the daily review of in-service failures and vehicle availability.


• Regular review of defective material to establish the root cause.


• Provide support and input to investigations of Safety Related Defects (SRDs).


• Utilising GMAO, LeadMind or other sources of data to produce detailed trend analysis of vehicle system and component failures for inclusion in reports or review at technical meetings.


• Generate WECRs or other such business reports as required.


• Provide general materials engineering support and problem solving for technical and procurement departments.


• Identification of modifications to improve fleet reliability.


• Produce report on modification progress as and when required.


• Support the Engineering Change process.


• Produce detailed technical investigative reports on significant safety and technical faults.


• Support the Performance Engineer and Production Manager to agree the priority of repairs, modifications, and campaigns, providing supporting documentation as required


• Support the training of CAF, client, or maintainer employees.
  
  HNC/D or above in an Engineering related discipline


• Experience in a Systems Reliability and Performance role.


• PC literate with the ability to learn new software programmes quickly


• Ability to learn new technologies quickly


• Experience writing technical reports
